My Dad used to say, "Interesting people live outside their comfort zones." That phrase has stuck with me more than I think he intended. Indeed, the most interesting people I know aren't afraid to try something new.
Within the scope of Research Document you'll find lots of these types, spanning from genre-breaking musicians to athletic and entertainment icons, artists, architects, and visionaries. They consistently live outside their comfort zones.
With that risk-taking philosophy in mind, we embarked on our inaugural print volume of Research Document back in 2014. A decade later, our mission remains the same: To blend design, photography, video, and written word. Each installment, whether experienced digitally or, eventually in a volume of print, aims to illuminate three facets of John Elliott: Who we are, Where we've been, and Where we want to go.
Looking forward, Research Document will evolve into a hub of brand exploration. Through digital releases, we'll showcase the people, places, objects, and ideas that our favorite creators use to form their own foundations, culminating in annual print retrospectives.
The first digital installment of this relaunch will debut tomorrow, March 23rd. It's our hope that these offerings will ignite your imagination and transport you far beyond the confines of your comfort zone.
