John Elliott Melrose
8808 Melrose Avenue
West Hollywood, CA, 90069
Monday to Saturday 11:00am - 7:00pm, Sunday 12:00pm - 6:00pm
Our 3,500 square foot retail location at 8808 Melrose Avenue is located in West Hollywood. The location is an exploration in curating our history and ethos, utilizing modular and utilitarian construction for an elevated presentation of seasonal and core Men’s and Women’s collections.
Paying homage to our roots, the store fuses references from both Tokyo and the Pacific Coast. Japanese matte white tile - long and narrow in form - cover the facade and are juxtaposed with a white, technical fabric covering the upper, while a light-box extends off the exterior. Interior lighting mimics natural daylight temperatures - an intentional design feature that aims to bring the sun inside. The back of the store showcases footwear and houses Japanese bamboo, that can grow in the California climate.
John Elliott New York
270 Lafayette Street
New York, NY, 10012
Monday to Saturday 11:00am - 7:00pm, Sunday 12:00pm - 6:00pm
Introducing our New York flagship at 270 Lafayette Street. The space serves as John Elliott’s third physical location, with 2700 square feet of retail and a 300 square foot mezzanine that boasts a TASCHEN shop-in-shop.
The height and size of the location inspired the spacial design, leaning in to the indoor-outdoor connection our brand has always embraced. Sixteen foot floor-to-ceiling windows create relationship with the bustling street and frame a continuous fixture display that’s twelve feet high, giving the space a grand feel. The open framework allows for a piazza style experience that customers can meander through, with multiple open rooms and corners to discover.
New York has always been a North Star for us - with major milestones like our first wholesale order and runway show happening a stone’s throw away. In John’s words, “This feels like a bit of a homecoming.”
John Elliott Miami
Miami Design District
119 NE 41st Street
Miami, FL, 33137
Monday to Saturday 11:00am - 8:00pm,
Sunday 12:00pm - 6:00pm
Introducing our Miami Design District flagship store. The 3,300 square foot space is our brand’s second physical footprint following the Melrose Avenue location. The store expands off design language that was defined in Los Angeles. Tile is treated as a soft, organic object to complement the collections of high-tech leathers and uniquely dyed Japanese denims. Principles of bright light remain intact, with interior lighting that mimics natural circadian rhythms - a feature that aims to bring the sun inside.
A high gloss finish is applied to dressing room floors, juxtaposed against a matte retail space for a distinct feeling between the two. Perspectives change as visitors move throughout the space, with iridescent and mirrored surfaces throughout. Nature is a key element, with bamboo now complementing the broad jade fronds of local plants found throughout the boutique.
John Elliott Aspen
535 E Cooper Ave
Aspen, CO 81611
Monday to Saturday 11:00am - 7:00pm,
Sunday 11:00pm - 6:00pm
Our Aspen flagship at 535 E. Cooper Ave serves as John Elliott’s fourth physical location.
Taking winning elements from existing retail locations, the store expands off design language architect Stephan Wiemer developed and helped define in Los Angeles, Miami, and Soho.
Japanese matte white tile lines an organically curved back wall, framed by floor to ceiling mirrors for added depth. A continuous fixture display, first developed in New York, allows for an open, piazza-style framework to browse garments. A new lighting grid is the first exploration of a design that will be rolled out in future stores.
In John’s words, “This store is important because of it’s location. It’s in a highly visible area of a town that has a true luxury network.” For the brand, it’s an opportunity to be part of the local community and draw inspiration from the iconic American town, that’s world-renowned for its natural beauty.
“The by-product is that we’ll have the ability to tell stories with new and exclusive product that’s directly influenced by the climate and unique surroundings that can only be found in Aspen.”
